Marseille Provence Airport: Rent a car at the airport: Maussane is roughly a 1-hour drive, and a car is genuinely useful once you arrive. Public transport is possible but not elegant: get to Marseille, take a train toward Arles, then connect to ZOU! line 702; allow about 2.5–3 hours door to door and roughly €20–€40 before any last-mile taxi. Do not pay for a generic airport-transfer website unless you have a group and a confirmed all-in quote.
Arles station: The practical railhead. Use ZOU! regional bus line 702 toward Maussane, then walk or take a pre-booked local taxi to accommodation outside the centre. Budget roughly 45–60 minutes including the bus journey and waiting time; services are sparse enough that the timetable, not the map, decides your day. A rental car or taxi is better for late arrivals.
Avignon TGV station: Best for travellers arriving by high-speed train, but only if collecting a rental car: allow about 50–60 minutes by road. Without a car, the onward rail/bus connections via Arles or other hubs are slow and fragmented; this is not a station-to-village transfer to improvise after dinner.
